Principal's Message

It has been so wonderful having the children back in the building. I've enjoyed hearing about their summer, receiving hugs, and high fives, and their excitement for what a new school year brings.

A gentle reminder: Should there be any changes to your child's dismissal process, in addition to discussing with your child, please notify your child's teacher as well as the office. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

I am looking forward to a great first full week!

Week of September 9th- September 13th

Welcome to New Staff

Last week's newsletter contained new staff to Sussex. Unfortunately, I forgot someone. Ms. Camelotto is now at Sussex! She is a wonderful addition to our building and I am so excited to work alongside her. Help me in welcoming her!!

Parking Lot Traffic Pattern

Larger signs have been installed to assist with proper traffic patterns when navigating our parking lot. When entering the parking lot, please stay to the right. The driveway and parking lots are one way roadways. Vehicles should not be driving up the driveway to the side entrance nor driving up the driveway and then turning into the parking spaces. One way signs have been installed along with arrows signaling proper traffic pattern. For the safety of all, please adhere to the traffic pattern.

Nurse's Corner

Welcome back to school! Your children may have noticed the bulletin board display outside the health office about the importance of handwashing. With groups of kids come lots of germs. The easiest and most effective way to battle them is with good handwashing habits. Remind your children to wash their hands when they return home from things like school, stores, sports and playgrounds. Soap and water are always the first choice but hand sanitizers work too. Keeping hands away from eyes, noses and mouths is also a great way to keep those unwanted germs and illnesses away. Let’s have a healthy school year!

I am happy to meet with any member of the community! Should you like to discuss questions, concerns, or any matter, please contact Ms. Melissa Johnson at 973-292-2250 ext. 6550 to schedule an appointment.
