Home Activities From Your Educators
Toddler- Animals & Animal Homes
Dear Toddler Families,
This week we invite you to explore the ocean and the animals in it! Use the following ideas from your child's classroom or create your own!
Fish Bowl Art
Using the color, number & shape of the month, Blue, 8 & Circle, color or paint a circle shape then invite your toddler to add 8 goldfish to the circle! Don't forget to use the sign for "Blue" and "Fish"!
Star Fish Art
Pre Cut a Star Shape then allow your Toddler to paint bubble wrap the color blue. Together, stamp the bubble wrap on your star fish! Don't have bubble wrap? Make dots with Q-tips! Want to add more learning? Sign the color blue as you work or make eight of them to count when dry!
Play Doh Fine Motor & Sensory
Use play doh and sea shells to allow your toddler to explore science and work on fine motor development by pressing into the dough! Discuss the patterns and textures left behind in your ocean play doh!
Spaghetti Sensory!
Make some spaghetti (Blue or not) adding small ocean animals to it! If you don't have ocean animals, your toddler will enjoy this activity without too! Allow your toddler to attempt using tongs or a scoop if some sort to transfer the noodles to another bowl! What a fun hand-eye coordination activity! Can you count the animals in there too?
