Twin Peaks Middle School

Weekly RAM Newsletter

A Brief Note from Dr. Burke

Dear RAM families,

I hope you enjoyed your week off from school. With roughly 3 months of school left, the year will go by pretty quickly from here on out. This weekend our 8th graders can look forward to the 8th Grade Knott's Berry Farm Trip. Next week, our 6th graders will head off to camp. Be sure to visit the ASB website for additional information about upcoming events and activities.

I also want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of you who provided input for our LCAP Plan via Thoughtexchange. Please know that we are reading your comments and will continue to use them as we strive to build a better Twin Peaks. Speaking of a better Twin Peaks, this is probably a good time to remind your students of our anonymous See Something, Say Something envelop located in the Counseling office. We continue to check it daily and follow up on leads related to issues such as use of hurtful language, bullying and vaping. All students deserve to feel safe and respected at school.

I will close with a shout out to our Science Olympiad Team which recently competed in their annual competition testing their knowledge and application of skills in a variety of science domains. You can find the results below. Many thanks to all the parent coaches whom without their sharing of time and talent, this experience would not have been possible.

I look forward to seeing all our students tomorrow, and remember, it's a 5/1/3 day.

Sincerely,

Dr. Burke

Wells Fargo Employees Presenting to 6th Grade RAM Classes

As we have been monitoring the feedback on the recent Thought Exchange, one of the suggestions that has come up is a need for more financial literacy. We have been collaborating with Wells Fargo to partner with them to bring some of their community volunteer employees as presenters for our 6th grade students to learn more about budgeting and savings. Upon our return from break, the presenters will be coming to Twin Peaks to share information and activities during their RAM classes on Thurs, Feb. 28th and Fri, March 1st. We appreciate our School Site Council and Poway Wells Fargo for helping bring this opportunity to our campus.
