Hannah Brunsdon, Mental Health Capacity Builder ... assigned to Madonna 2 Days a week.

Hannah Brunsdon is a Mental Health Capacity Builder with Strathcona County’s Family and Community Services Department. Her role is to provide universal mental health education for all students.

She will be working within classes and in groups only. Teachers are always present.

With the kindergarten- grade 2 students, we'll be using the Kimochi's program to learn about how to recognize, understand, and regulate emotions both BIG and small. A key message from the Kimochi's program is that all feelings are okay, but not all behaviours.

With the grade 3/4s, we will be focusing on supporting students' social emotional learning specifically focusing on healthy friendships. This will include discussions about friendly and unfriendly behaviours, empathy, navigating tricky situations such as conflicts and disagreements, and when to get an adult involved to help our friends if they need it. "

We look forward to Hannah's support in the classroom.
