Melanoma
- melanoma is most deadly but the least common.
- if untreated it can spread to other parts of the body.
- appears as a new spot or an existing spot that changes colour, size and shape.
- cancer can appear on skin not normally exposed to the sun
Squamous cell carcinoma
- is not as dangerous as melanoma.
- appears as thickened, red, scaly spot that may bleed easily.
- appears on skin most often exposed to the sun.
- grows over some mouths.
- is more likely to occur in people over 50 years old.
Basal cell carcinoma
- Basal cell carcinoma is the most common and the least dangerous form of skin cancer
- Basal cell carcinoma is red, pale or pearly in colour.
- Basal cell carcinoma appears as a lamp or dry, scaly skin.
- Basal cell carcinoma may ulcerate or fail to completely heal
- Basal cell carcinoma grows slowly, unusually on the, head, neck and upper torso.
