NYC WIT!

Homework due Sunday, October 2nd by 4pm!

Hi Everyone!

Please read this entire document. Only ONE PERSON fully completed Part I of last week's homework. If you want to launch a successful business, you must be prepared to follow directions, read information carefully, and double/triple check your work!

If you are celebrating Rosh Hashanah, it is my understanding that it begins on the evening of October 2nd. Please email me if you need an extension on this week's homework assignment.

Please complete EVERYTHING by October 2nd, 4pm!

Schoology videos: Comment on at least two of your teammate's videos

Now that you've uploaded your intro video to Schoology, please do the following:

  • View everyone else's video
  • Comment on at least two other videos (preferably ones that don't have any comments yet)

Google form: If you haven't completed the "Getting to know YOU" form, please do so. I look forward to supporting you throughout this journey.

  • If you already completed the form, please skip Step 2.

Uploading logo notes to Schoology

Logo homework: Most of you uploaded your logo notes, but a couple of you still need to complete this step.

  • Please upload your notes from last week
  • If you're not sure what I'm referring to, please look at the following image

Note: We were supposed to work on logos in class, but didn't have time. I will make time during class on October 3rd (remind me).

YOU as a brand

Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be.

The purpose of last week's homework assignment was to get you thinking about who you are, and Monday's class explored who people perceive you to be. This week's homework focuses on who you want to be (as a person). Remember, you can't be all things to all people.

Write (or type) some thoughts on the following questions (bullets are fine):

  • Who do you want to be (as a person)?
  • What do you stand for?

WIT business ideas!

Some of you may already have some business ideas for WIT (totally okay if you have no clue). The following exercise will help you generate business ideas by identifying what you enjoy doing/learning and what you care about (school, community, global issues/causes).

Imagine you went to a school that never assigns homework. Instead, your teachers insist you spend your free time doing things you love, enjoy, and/or want to explore.

  • What would you spend your time doing?

Imagine you went to a school that dedicated one day each week to working on projects that directly relate to things you care about.

  • What are some causes you care about?
  • How would you spend your day?
  • What would you work on?
