Valentine's Project
Miss Roberts * Stoy School
It's almost the loveliest part of year! In preparations, the students of 2R will be making Valentine’s Day mailboxes that will hopefully become a keepsake for years to come. Each student will be asked to collect an empty cereal box and cover it with his or her favorite color construction paper or duct tape. I will send construction paper home with students on Monday.
Help your child cut the top flaps of the cereal box off. They will then cover all sides of the cereal box using the paper or duct tape. Remind your child to write his/her name on the bottom of the box and bring it to school on Monday, February 4th. DO NOT DECORATE THE BOX AT HOME! We will be decorating it in school as a creative writing project!
We have been discussing the importance of treating all of our friends respectfully. We are learning how to speak kindly to each other and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to spread compliments and good cheer! Beginning Monday, February 11th, the students may bring in Valentines for their friends. When they are brought in, the students will have a chance to distribute them into the keepsake mailboxes. We have 22 friends in our class and you must include everyone if you send cards into school. You can make or purchase your cards. Have your child sign his/her name on each valentine.
