Happy new year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and could relax and spend some quality time with your families. This week we have been working on re-establishing routines as we get back on track with learning, which I hope you will work on with your students as well.

We are seeing a lot of students arrive at school late. Please remember that our doors open at 8:00. Class will begin at 8:30 so please be on time. Because our school does rotations, students are missing the same subject every day.

Also, please strive for good attendance. I came across this picture and thought I would share it.

Our lottery is now open. This is for new families wanting to come to LLA next school year. Please pass along the information to your friends and family.

For students already attending, our Intent to Return link is open! We need all students that are returning to declare intent for next year. You will be able to register your student(s) through our online registration process in Aspire. You can access registration through your own contact login account (not your student’s login account) and complete the registration and enrollment process. This should be done by February 15th, 2023.

From Aspire’s login homepage:

• Enter your contact account’s username and password credentials.

• If you have forgotten your account username, please contact the school office.

• If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the “forgot password” link.

• If you have never created a contact account, you can click on “request a username” and enter your student’s school ID# and birthdate, and complete the process of creating your account.

• If you need assistance, please contact the school office.

Upon logging into your Aspire contact account, you will see a hyperlink above where your student’s address is displayed that will take you to your student’s online registration portal. If you have more than one student that you are registering, you will need to complete this process for each student.

It is recommended to use a computer, not a mobile phone, as there are many documents to review.

If you have a new student/sibling that you would like to attend LLA, you will be able to add this student’s information through the lottery right now.

Indoor Recess

In the event that the school must conduct indoor recess (a “feels like” temperature of less than 20° F, red air quality day, or significant precipitation or wind), teachers and staff will follow the indoor recess guidelines established by the administration that promote physical activity for students, to the extent practicable.

Winter Clothing

Please make sure that students are dressed for the weather. As mentioned before, all students will be going outside for recess except for what was mentioned above.

Sledding

Students will not be allowed to sled down the hill without proper snow attire. If they do, they get wet and cold, which makes it hard for learning.
