A Year of Gratitude
January 24, 2020
From the Principal...
Dear Seton Families,
To improve the safety of our dismissal time, our students will now be dismissed in 2 groups. Grades 5-8 will be dismissed at the first bell (3pm) and grades K-4 will be dismissed at the second bell (3:02pm). This should have minimal impact on parent pick up, but will reduce the traffic on the exit stairs. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure everyday at Seton School is safe.
Thank you for being part of our Seton School Community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Nardi, Principal
I Am Happy to Introduce...
I want to introduce Margaret VerVelde. She will be taking over grade 1 until a permanent replacement is found. She is able to stay the remainder of the school year if needed. I am very excited to have her on our team and confident she will do an amazing job.
I am Margaret VerVelde, I have been a teacher for 30 years. I have homeschooled, taught K-12 PE, subbed in all grade levels, and taught in special ed. I enjoy helping students learn and it is so fun when the "light bulb" goes on. I have been married for 30 years and have 5 grown children. My husband and I enjoy traveling to see our kids in different parts of the US and watching them participate in their college activities. I also enjoy coaching club volleyball.
I can't wait to get to know your child and you this year.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Mane Event 2020
What is Mane Event?
The Mane Event is one of our school's largest fundraisers. We have a dinner, cash bar, silent auction and live auction. Each year there is a different theme. This years’ theme is Now and Then, taking a look back at all the school’s history. We will be introducing a VIP Whiskey Bar which will include chair massages and specialty hors d’oeuvres and desserts. There will also be a live band, beer/wine tasting and all-you-can eat buffet for all!
When is Mane Event?
In Seton Cafeteria on Saturday March 14 th from 5pm-10pm
Can I help without being in charge of something?
Of course! We have quite a few volunteers who are only available to help behind the scenes. Whether it is a few hours of volunteer time or just one day, we are very appreciative.
Do I have to attend the meetings to help?
No. However, attending the meetings can help if you decide to take on a larger role, but even then is not always necessary. A lot of our communication is done through email, phone calls/text or even catching up at drop off and pick up.
Who do I contact if I want to help?
Natalie Kohlhagen – natalie.kohlhagen@gmail.com or 920-254-7616
Where is help needed this year?
1. Silent Auction – dropping off donation request letters to local businesses, calling for donations, picking up donations, making baskets and taking photos for online bidding.
2. Decorations – creating, collecting, making and buying decorations for the event.
3. Live Auction – calling businesses for larger donations to go into the live auction and bundling them together if need be.
4. Invitations/Thank you cards – ordering and sending out invitations and thank you cards to our donors and sponsors.
5. Raffle Ticket Sales – We have an amazing raffle! The office will be selling a majority of the tickets which only leaves us with needing a few people to sell tickets after masses.
6. Beer/Wine Tasting – contacting vendors, local breweries and local wineries to be at our event (Three Sheeps Brewery and Blind Horse are already committed) and creating signs to promote those vendors.
7. Whiskey Bar – helping locate a whiskey supplier, renting the furniture (couches, tables etc.) and arranging the food.
Please consider helping us out. This fundraiser CANNOT happen without volunteers.
All are welcome – parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or family friend!
Now and Then
Seton’s 2020 spring fundraiser, The Mane Event, is themed “Now and Then”. We are asking parishioners for pictures from all of the schools including Seton, Holy Family, St. Dominic’s and St. Clement. Copies will be made and originals returned. We are creating a time line of from when the schools opened to present day. We are looking to have every school and as many years as possible represented. Thank you for all your help. Please drop off at Holy name office ATTN: Sara Lancour or email slancour30@hotmail.com.

Do You Have Old Eyeglasses Sitting Around?
There are millions of people in the world today who need eyeglasses to see clearly. Globally, one child in four cannot see well enough to learn to read without glasses. By age 40, 90% of adults experience a decrease in the ability to read print and need eyeglasses. Many developing countries lack the resources to manufacture quality lenses. The cost of imported eyeglasses is far beyond the means of the average citizen. Millions will fail to reach their economic, educational, and social potential without access to quality glasses.
