The student DATA form is by far the most important one for us to have ASAP so if all students who are continuing in Carmel Choirs next year can complete this form right away, that would be a huge help to us. We are in need of some additional student & adult volunteers to assist with registration for our annual Summer Spectacular Show Choir Camp. Help is mainly needed between 8-9am and 12-1pm on May 30, and again at the final concert on Friday, June 2. If you can consider spending an hour or two with us, please sign up at the link below. We are also looking for volunteers to come up to school on Friday, May 26 from 10am-12pm to assist with setting up risers on stage, cleaning up and organizing E157, assembling camper folders, and sorting t-shirts. Please come by to lend a hand!

After a few years hiatus, the Indiana All State Show Choir has returned! We HIGHLY encourage students who love to sing and dance to audition for this great opportunity!

Details for the Event:

-August 31st - September 2nd

-Chesterton High School in Chesterton, IN

-$75 per selected student participant

-Top 60 students for the entire state of Indiana will be selected from all audition applications with no more than five coming from any given school. All auditions will be reviewed by an unbiased (non-Indiana) panel.

-The audition will consist of both a dance and vocal audition (and all of that material can be found on the website linked below).

-Auditions must be submitted between 5/12-5/26 so don't delay!

Join us this summer to sing and dance down Rangeline in the 2023 Carmelfest 4th of July Parade. We have a great time every year and all current, incoming, and former Carmel Choir students are welcome. Sign up to participate at the link below and you'll get a free t-shirt to wear in the parade. You also must complete the City of Carmel Waiver and bring it with you to the parade on July 4th. More info to come, but for now, sign up so that we can get the tshirt order going.

Typically, when you spend with RaiseRight you are using an e-card or code, but a couple of times a year, we order hard gift cards that people can buy as gift for others, or to use as a reloadable option. Natalie will be ordering gift cards, physical gift cards and reloadable gift cards this week, but orders must be in by May 15th at midnight. Cards will be available to pick up at the spring concert May 18th.

Summer is a great time to start voice lessons! We cannot recommend private lessons enough. We have seen so many of our students benefit greatly from one on one coaching as they move through the natural vocal changes and challenges that occur during adolescence. Voice lessons can also help students with posture and body alignment, relaxed breathing, overall confidence on stage, communication in public, and even stress management. Check out the list of recommended teachers below.

We are thrilled to announce that both the Carmel Ambassadors & Accents have been chosen as this year's "host" choirs for the 2023 Show Choir Camps Of America. There are two sessions of SCA, one in June at Millikin University in Decatur, IL and one in July at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, OH. Each year, one choir from around the country is chosen to perform their competition show from the previous season during the Opening Ceremonies of the camp. This year, the Accents will perform their show, "Live Your Dash" at the opening ceremony of the Illinois Camp on June 18, and the Ambassadors will perform their show, "Water Tower Town" at the opening ceremony of the Ohio Camp on July 9. It is not only an honor to be chose, but also very exciting for these students to get to share their exciting shows with audiences one more time.

At the start of second quarter, we introduced all choir classes to our On-Line Music Theory Program that we will be using this year. It is called "Breezin' Thru Theory". Students will need to login daily for assignments. They can do these on any device including a laptop, tablet, or smart phone. Their assignments can be viewed on the dashboard of the theory website, or on Powerschool. Please be sure students are completing assignments in a timely manner.
