Opportunities for Apple Training for the iPad

CIES will provide substitutes for these trainings. Half-day or full-day subs will be provided according to your registration. Space is limited to 20 participants per course. You will need to register in KeepCertified. Once you have secured a spot in KeepCertified for the session, go to AESOP and request a substitute. The paperwork will be done for you once you have registered in both KeepCertified and AESOP.

Becoming a Power User for Teaching and Learning Session

  • Discover how to make the most effective use of your device as a tool for learning and teaching. Get to know the fundamentals, powerful features, settings, and educational learning resources built into every Apple operating system.


5th Grade Teachers on Tuesday April 26 from 12:30-3:30 PM

All Licensed Staff on Wednesday April 27 from 8:30-11:30 AM

Cross Curricular Connections for Elementary Learners Session

  • Learn authentic ways to integrate Apple creativity apps across all curricular areas to engage K-6 elementary learners. (+ See note below). Build creative, student-centered activities that support critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and collaboration.
  • The following Apps may be used in this session: Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Safari, Notes, Camera, Photos/iPhotos, iBooks Author, iBooks, iTunes U. Familiarity with these apps will be helpful, though not required.

Promoting Authentic Reading and Writing Session

  • Discover how to use real-world themes in reading and writing by giving learners voice, ownership, and creative power over how they show understanding. Learn how to use Apple creativity apps to help support research, persuasion, and communication.
  • The following Apps may be used in this session: iMovie, Keynote, Notes, Safari, Camera, Photos/iPhoto, Podcasts, iBooks, iTunes U, Dictionary. Familiarity with these apps will be helpful, though not required.

EL and Mental Health Re-Licensure Requirement Course Options

Courses have been designed to meet your EL and Mental Health requirements for re-licensure. Both are completely self-paced and are housed in Schoology. Follow the directions below to access the course.


1. Click course in the menu bar

2. Click join, near the bottom.

3. In the pop up enter in this access code: R6TS3-THCJ6

4. Click join when you are finished.


EL COURSE ONLY - IMPORTANT: The first step will be that you request a WIDA account. It takes at least 24 hours to setup this account (weekends do take longer). You can still complete the Introduction and Part 1 without the WIDA account.


It should take you about 2 hours to get all of the required steps completed for one course. You do not need to complete the course in one sitting. Once all steps are completed, you will get a certificate sent to your email and the hours will be uploaded to Keep Certified.
