Monday Morning Memo - Week 36
5/28/18 - Happy Memorial Day
Dear Poupard Staff,
Three to go! When I think of Memorial Days celebrated in the past, I am reminded of two common themes. One is service and the other is gratitude. For this weeks thoughts, I will focus on gratitude. As I reflect on this day, I am filled with gratitude and awe for all of the men and women that serve on our behalf to ensure the freedom we enjoy. I also think of my grandfather’s and dad’s generations and the sacrifices they made during the World Wars to keep us safe and free. The level of their sacrifices are overwhelming and hard to fathom. Today I ask myself what can I do in my role during this time of year to honor them? One thing I can do is reach out to others in my professional and personal life. This is a great week for all of us to think of others and practice gratitude. Make a commitment to seek out ten people and thank them for who they are and what they do. It can be students, staff members, community members, or family. This small act is a powerful way to appreciate one another.
So as the 2017-18 school year is coming to an end, finish strong by honoring others by validating their talents, hard work and skills.
Have a great week and keep appreciating the good stuff!
Sincerely,
Ali

- All staff should meet with Cindy to schedule their observation. You will be scheduling three dates (Pre-Observation, Observation, and Post-Observation).
- Dragon Dollars have been handed out. Please use these to acknowledge the positive behaviors you notice from our 4th and 5th graders. Please only hand out one at a time.
- Please remember to take your Walkie Talkie with you outside when you take your students outside for an extra recess. The office staff has had a tough time locating individual students at the end of the day and it can be especially challenging with one person.
- The School Improvement Team is looking for books in good shape for Poupard's Literacy Night in May. If you find some, get a receipt and give them to Lori Woz.
