WMS International Cookbook is Still On!

We hope this email finds all of you healthy and enjoying some socially distanced family time. While it may be a while before we are back together, the PTO is still moving ahead with our International Cookbook and looking for all of your help! Please take a moment to find that special recipe to share with the community.

Along with your recipe, you may also submit a little story about why the recipe is important and special to your family and/or your culture. (optional)

All you need to do is email gbrennan@noonanrealestate.com or Lorena Moynihan at lmoynihan@gmail.com. We are hoping to have a record number of recipes since we have some extra time at home!

Calling All Student Artists!

We have been thinking about how to display the diversity of our community and thought what better way than to have our students create the cover! We are asking any student who is interested in submitting a drawing for the cover to please do so by April 24th. Once we have received all the drawings the PTO will take a vote. Use your creativity and help us design Watertown's International Cookbook! I can't wait to see all of your drawings!! Please email them to gbrennan@noonanrealestate.com with your picture, full name, grade, and homeroom teacher. Good Luck!!

Stay safe and happy drawing!

But wait, there's more! Looking for Extension Activities?

Have your child(ren):

  • Calculate the amounts needed of each ingredient if the recipe was: doubled, tripled, halved, etc.
  • Plan a meal for a certain amount of guests and figure out how much food is needed for the meal, and what they would serve alongside the recipe
  • Cook the recipe (with your supervision)
  • Research the origin of the recipe
  • Research other recipes from this country
  • Draw a map of the country of where the recipe originated
  • Draw a scene of people eating the recipe
  • Write a story about a meal being served with the recipe

Have fun with it! :)
