21/22 SCHOOL PHOTOS
School Pictures will take place during the school day on Thursday, September 9th. Our Make-up/Retake Day will be Tuesday, October 12th. If you are unable to make it on either of those days, or your student is learning virtually, please contact the School and Sport Pics New Berlin office at 262-780-2901 to set up an appointment.
VISITORS & VOLUNTEERS IN SCHOOLS
In regards to visitors or volunteers, any person entering any school building during the school day when children are present for school is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Masks should be worn at all times when in the building, and the visitor/volunteer should limit direct contact with others and maintain social distance (6 feet or more) when able.
Visitors and volunteers who are outdoors during the school day where students are present are required to wear a mask unless they have been vaccinated. Visitors or volunteers in the building after school, in locations where students are not present, are not required to wear a mask.

BOARD OF EDUCATION RECAP & MASKING CHANGE
BOARD OF EDUCATION RECAP & MASKING CHANGE
At last week’s Board of Education meeting, the school board heard a presentation from district leaders, including the district’s medical advisory team, and then ultimately voted on a change to masking requirements for the 2021-22 school year. Please see the full communication we sent to families on Thursday here and the current masking protocols for the start of the school year are shown below. At all elementary buildings and for 6th grade students at Forest Park, students are currently required to wear masks since the Community Burden Rate for Franklin is currently in the red. For grades 7 through 12, students are ‘recommended’ to wear masks. Franklin Public Schools will be releasing a dashboard weekly (on Fridays) to share the newest case rate information and any impact this has for masking for the following week. You can always find the dashboard and any updates on our Communications Hub here
KIDS CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
Many families are enrolled in our before and after school care through KIDS CLUB, under the Community & Recreation Department. Since Kids Club operates within Franklin Public Schools, we will be following the same masking and safety protocols as the schools. Here are some brief notes about what you can expect when dropping off or picking up your child from Kids Club:
Parents may not enter the building and we will use the same “walkie talkie” protocol that we utilized last year. More communication about this regarding how to use the walkie to call into the building will be coming to families soon.
Per the district masking protocols, children need to be masked to enter the elementary building and our staff is not able to help children put on their masks. Please see that your child is properly masked before entering the building.
MEDICATION FOR THE 21/22 SCHOOL YEAR
If your student will require ANY (over the counter or
prescription) medication for the 21-22 school year
Please fill out the Request to Administer Medication
form found on our district website and have it signed by
your physician.
Starting August 30th, all medication can be dropped off at the school in its original container along with this form.
BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR PARENTS OF 4K & 5K
4K & Kindergarten students will be picked up and dropped off with other elementary students at a designated stop. A parent or designee must assume responsibility for the child at the stop when dropped off.
If parents would like to designate a person other than themselves, they can send an email to tricia.geiger@franklin.k12.wi.us
