Slate Hill Newsletter

Message from the Principal
Dear Slate Hill families,
Due to the fluctuating weather this time of year - one day it's warm and the next day it's not! - Slate Hill is in need of larger size coats and jackets (Youth Large and Adult Small) for students to borrow during recess. If you have any that are willing to donate to the school would be greatly appreciated!
Feel free to check out the Special Education Family Resources newsletter here: https://www.smore.com/k465r There is a free Yoga event on February 28th!
Please take some time at home each week to review our building expectations and your expectations for your child's learning and behavior. We appreciate your partnership!
At the Slate:
- We are respectful and responsible
- We are safe
- We take care of ourselves, others and property

The 2023 Finley's Smile 5K & Smile Mile is coming! Join us on Sunday, April 23rd to support our organization, Finley's Smile. Register at: https://racepenguin.com/events/finleysmile5k/
Finley's Smile is a nonprofit that was created by Kristin and Tyler Hollinger after their daughter, Finley Grace passed away in 2016. The Finley's Smile 5K & Smile Mile is the primary fundraiser for the organization. The goal of Finley's Smile is to provide fun, authentic and meaningful experiences for children, while encouraging families to spend time together. Some of the projects funded by Finley's Smile include the Games in Schools program at Slate Hill Elementary (as well as other Worthington Schools). This program provides students with the opportunity to check out board games from the school library to enjoy with their families. Finley's Smile has also provided over $40,000 through our Love, Play, Smile grant. This grant goes to support other nonprofit organizations who share their vision to provide children and their families/caregivers with fun, background building experiences!
