Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pickup
2nd Avenue that runs directly in front of the elementary school is a one way street in the morning and in the afternoon. Sometimes there is an officer in their vehicle with their lights one and other times there are three orange cones blocking part of the street. Please do not drive around the cones. We make this a one way for the safely of our students. Thank you.
Did you know...
Parents are welcome to have lunch with your child. Please stop in the office and purchase a lunch ticket and given a visitors pass we will happily show you to the lunchroom.
If you would like to visit your child’s classroom, please make an appointment with your child’s teacher and on the day of your visit we will get you visitor’s pass and shown to their room.
Safety of Students and Staff
Keeping our students and staff safe is 100% our priority. In the chance that something happens in the community or at school the administration works closely with law enforcement to ensure that all protocols are being followed. Please be mindful there may be times that we are unable to answer the phones because we may be attending to other things within the building. The district all call system will send out information when it is deemed appropriate.
Our all call system is used to send out reminders for different districts as well as late starts or if school has been called off. If for some reason you do not receive our all calls, please update your phone numbers with the office staff.
Please make sure addresses and phone numbers are updated in PowerSchool
Cold Weather🥶
Just a reminder per the school handbook if the weather is above 0 (zero) the students will be outside. Please dress them appropriately each morning with hats, gloves, snow pants, boots, and a warm jacket.
Every night your child has homework to read for 20 minutes a night. This homework is part of our Success for All reading program.
Checking your student out
Every minute of school matters try and refrain from checking your child out of school early.

Tips to help your child.
Records
Letters are being sent out if parts of your child’s file are missing. Remember we need a birth certificate, immunization records, tribal enrollment (If enrolled), and updated contact information. If any items are missing, please bring them to the school. Copies can be made if necessary. Thank you!
Confusion
Dismissal is a very busy time for everyone. Parents, please try to be consistent with what your child does after school. If too many changes are made confusion can happen and this is usually when a student ends up in the wrong place. Please remember changes need to be made before 3:00 Mon, Tue, Thursday, and Friday and before 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Call the office at 701-627-3718 with changes.
VISITOR POLICY
Parents are encouraged to visit the school at any time. For the safety of students and staff, anyone visiting the school for any reason must enter through the main doors and stop in the office, no one will be permitted past the office without a prior appointment. All bags/backpacks may be subject to search. A door system has been installed in all buildings to alert office personnel of any visitor who wants to gain access to the building. Parents/legal guardians are asked to not send younger brothers, sisters, or other children to school to visit. We have no facilities to handle visiting children, and their presence tends to be disruptive. Parents are asked to call ahead of time to schedule an appointment with the teacher, so classes are not disrupted unexpectedly. If a parent abuses this policy, measures will be put into place to limit their access to the building for student and staff safety.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Students will be kept after school to make up time they missed by coming to school late, leaving school early, and/or for extra help with schoolwork, or for discipline reasons. Transportation for students living in town, IHS Housing, Bakersfield, and 4 Bears Village will be provided at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
March's after school Calendar

• Second (2nd) Offense - The cell phone/electronic device shall be confiscated and held by the principal until a parent/guardian picks up the unit in person at the end of the day. A discipline referral will be completed for documentation.
• Third (3rd) Offense - The cell phone/electronic device shall be confiscated and held by the principal and the student will be deemed insubordinate and will receive one (1) day of in-school suspension and a parent meeting with administration and the SRO. A discipline referral will be completed for documentation.
