We had a great week finishing up the main idea objective. Next week, we get into gear and start with expository writing. We have practiced working on informational writing prompts during our writing time in class. This week, they will think of a topic they are interested in to write about. October 9th: Unit 2 Post test and Unit 1 Retakes
Week at a Glance:
Students will be given the opportunity to work toward a retake for Unit 1: Scale Drawings after making test corrections and showing new learning. Students should be preparing for a retake before October 9th.
This week, students will being continue working on Unit 2: Proportional Relationships from our Open Up Resources Tasks. Important vocabulary words and sample problems are available in the Family Newsletter from Open Up Resources.
Students will continue using Edmentum ExactPath during math small group time. Please check out this resource for more about Edmentum.

Social Studies
Building aqueducts to learn about the amazing feats of the Aztecs!
Week at a Glance:
This week we will be learning how the Aztecs and Incas used their natural resources to create very civilized societies and amazing feats of engineering!
Be sure to ask your child: What was one accomplishment of the Aztecs or the Incas?
