Traffic In Morning -- Notes for a Smoother Drop Off
With the cold and dark weather, more students are getting rides in the morning and this has created some long lines of cars, frustrated parents, and late students. In an effort to reduce the issues in the morning, would you please:
* Pull all the way up when dropping your child off. The further each car pulls up, the less the lines extend onto Hodgson Road.
* Make sure your child is ready to get out of the car and uses the passenger side. Students slowly exiting the car also increases the traffic and it is dangerous for them to exit on the driver's side where cars are pulling forward to leave the circle.
* Follow the posted signs when leaving the parking lot.
We appreciate people's patience as the winter weather results in more congestion during the morning drop off.
Co-Curricular Sports - Registration is open!
Don't delay, new sports are on the way! Boys & Girls Basketball, Fitness Training and Non-Competitive Swimming are all starting up right after Winter break. Head to the Community Education website for more information.

ChAC
We are now fast approaching the end of the calendar year, winter break and our next event, the SNOW BALL. This is our annual semi formal event for Chippewa and will be our third year hosting. The Chippewa gymnasium will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a fabulous DJ, black lights, lots of photo booths and delicious treats.
This year we have made it easier for you to purchase wristbands for your student by doing this through FeePay (Activities/Transportation) and this is available right now, wristbands cost $10 and the event is from 7-9pm (doors open at 6:30) on January 10th.
As always, we would love for you to volunteer to help with the set up/tear down and to chaperone the event- a sign up genius will be distributed before winter break. Thank you in advance for your support.
Just another reminder that the next ChAC meeting will be held next Thursday, December 12th 6:30pm in the IMC. We welcome you to come along and see how you can get involved.
Have a great weekend, keep warm!
Flu Season
LEGO Robotics Tournament at Chippewa
Do you like LEGOs? Do you like robots? Are you interested in FIRST LEGO League (FLL)? Then mark your calendar for Sat, Dec 14 and Sun, Dec 15 when there will be FLL tournaments held at Chippewa Middle School. Come see what teams from across Minnesota are doing with LEGO robots and learn more about what FLL is all about. The best time to come is late morning or late afternoon. The competition is free and open the public.
And if you are coming to visit, why not volunteer? Spending some time with another volunteer is a great way to understand the program better. You can sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f094aadac2daafb6-fllchippewa. Or email Norton Lam for more information at fll@nortonlam.com.
