Phonics Name Maps
ALL names start with a capital letter, and the rest of the letters are lowercase.
Every letter has a special "map"- specific directions for making the letter. We never start our letters from the bottom, and we slow down to train our muscles to write our letters correctly and not like we first learned to write our name!
The kids have been AWESOME-- be looking for the name improvement on their papers coming home! :) I will be sending home a green name map some time next week for your child to practice writing their name correctly at home.
Learning our names by heart!
We are finding ways to make 5 with shake and spill
We have worked hard learning all 26 letters and sounds during ABC Boot Camp! We celebrated the end with a Fashion Show!

Sight Words!
This year we will be learning a lot of sight words to help us become better readers. This list came home on Friday in your child's red folder for you to keep at home to practice the sight words daily that we will be learning throughout the year. I have highlighted the words in different colors to represent the words we will learn every 9 weeks.
I have laminated this for you for durability throughout the year. The more words your child learns the better reader they will be.
An outlook on next week:

Family Friday Lunch
Click the Link Below to sign up to join your child for Family Friday lunch on Fridays! This is when you get to eat with your child in the cafeteria during our regular lunchtime from 10:15-10:45 am. The office is asking that this year, you sign up by noon on Thursday before so the office is able to batch print. In the past, it has seemed to be a lengthy process and they are hoping this won't take as long to get parents in the building. PLEASE make sure you do the sign up if you plan on attending lunch with your child.
