East Elementary: Team East News
Staff Newsletter for 2018-2019, Episode 3
We are Blessed!
I know it must be as hard for you to believe as it is for me that October is here. While our work is not without its challenges, it is blessed because of the heart you have for our students, our families, and for each other. Our students are worth it... Our East family is worth it...
This year has already been marked with many successes and has been filled with experiences that have allowed us to truly get to know the strengths and needs of the families and students we serve. I know that knowledge is often times sobering and at this point in the year can feel overwhelming. But our mindset must remain that our goal is to help our students achieve as much as they can individually and collectively. Our calling is to ensure that they grow academically and socially as much as they can while they are in our care.
You are all amazing at what you do and I have no doubt our students will accomplish much under your leadership this year. You make the difference.
I know at this time last year I reminded us all of a quote from Rita Pierson. I must once again share her inspiration. "Every child deserves a champion -- an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be." Thank you for being a champion for our students!
My prayer is that I get to do this work along with all of you for a very long time. So as I've said many times before, let us all be reminded to care for ourselves, our families, and each other well so that we can look forward to serving our families here at East for years to come. We love you all and look forward to a fabulous October!
