The Positivity Project - PERSPECTIVE!
This week our students will learn more about the character strength of Perspective!
What is perspective?
Perspective is also referred to as wisdom and is distinct from intelligence. People with this strength are sought out for advice because they see the big picture and can make sense of the world’s complexity. This strength of perspective gives individuals the ability to see to the heart of difficult matters and achieve clarity. Most importantly, they are honest and behave in an ethically consistent manner.
Perspective is usually gained over time, as one accumulates more knowledge and experiences. However, developing perspective is not only a matter of time. It comes from truly listening to others when they talk and working to understand new points of view when reading books, listening to stories, or watching movies.
The parent virtue for integrity is Wisdom and Knowledge. Strengths of wisdom and knowledge are cognitive strengths related to acquiring and using information. This virtue includes creativity, curiosity, open-mindedness, love of learning and perspective.
Please use these quotes and discuss with your child what they learn about Perspective this week.
"Sometimes all it takes is a tiny shift of perspective to see something familiar in a totally new light" ~Dan Brown
"I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different." ~Unknown

Spirit Day Friday!
Friday is our next Spirit Day! Students are encouraged to dress like a Buccaneer or wear their school spirit gear!
Kiss the Pig & Transit Vocal
What is Transit Vocal???
All band, no instruments…
transit is four singers, that’s it. Their only instruments are their natural born voices. Everything you hear from the stage and on our studio recordings begins with the human voice. Utilizing the latest technology they combine their vocal talents with stage and studio effects to bring music to life and put on a show that those who have never seen a vocal band will hardly believe.

Unity Day - Wednesday, Oct 23 - Wear Orange
Together against bullying. UNITED for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
Make it ORANGE and make it end! What are your true colors when it comes to showing that you believe that all youth should be safe from bullying? Come together in one giant ORANGE message of hope and support, WEAR AND SHARE ORANGE to color our nation, and even the world, visibly showing that our society believes that no child should ever experience bullying.
“ORANGE provides a powerful, visually compelling expression of solidarity,” said Paula Goldberg, Executive Director of PACER Center. “Whether it’s hundreds of individuals at a school wearing ORANGE, store owners offering ORANGE products, or a community changing a landmark to ORANGE, the vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, sending the supportive, universal message that bullying is never acceptable behavior.”
