Cardinal Parents, Students, and Staff:
"Don't stop when you're tired. Stop when you're done."
One of the differences between those who make it and those who don't is the willingness to keep moving forward after fatigue, failure, exhaustion, frustration, obstacles, and hardships. In the Army, we often heard the command, "Forward march!" Most of the time, we did not know the final destination. The only thing we knew was that we were going to get there one step at a time and one foot in front of the other. We didn't stop when we were tired. We stopped when we were done.
Let's do this! Cardinal Strong!
- Feb 27: What legacy do you want to leave behind?
- Feb 28: What situations take you outside of your comfort zone?
- Mar 1: What was a time when you showed forgiveness?
- Mar 2: What was a time when you felt like you didn’t fit in?
- Mar 3: Who was a person that turned out to be very different than your first impression?

Staff Spotlight:
Name: Matt Price
My Role at FPHS: Food Justice in Action Teacher – at the Farm! (off campus)
Hobbies: Playing music, riding my bike, native plant propagation
Favorite Book: Emergent Strategy – adrienne marie brown
Favorite Quote: “All Revolution is based on Land” – Malcom X
Staff Spotlight:
Name: Crystal Fagering
My Role at FPHS: In working in the support Center, my role is to assist the teachers in the education of the students as well as supporting the students as they face daily challenges by overcoming obstacles, encouraging perseverance when they want to give up and modeling positive choices and actions. Watching them reach milestones scholastically and in daily living skills is priceless. When they find their dignity, they grow in confidence. Helping them learn the skills they will need to be functioning adults is something I am very proud and honored to be a part of.
Hobbies: I LOVE arts and crafts. I could do them forever and not get tired of them. I also love camping, walking and hanging out during free time with my husband & two teenage boys.
Favorite Book: The Bible is my favorite book. It is often has a rep for being boring and ancient. But there's countless adventurous stories, lessons to be learned and great advice to live by that I can apply to my everyday life.
Favorite Quote: It's hard to have just one. There are so many good quotes. Here are two:
- "The will of God will never take you to where the grace of God will not protect you" by Bernadette Devlin
- "If you can see it, you can achieve it, God helps those who help themselves. Power is in the act of humility" By Patricia Amis

- Do you speak, read and write a language other than English?
- Are you interested in earning up to four World Language elective credits?
- Do you want the Seal of Biliteracy on your diploma? (future employers love multilingual employees!)

NEW Performing Arts Center!
We are very excited about our new Performance Arts Center! We are in eager anticipation of the day that we can fully showcase the talents of our band, orchestra, choir, drama programs, and so much more!
- Part of the "cost" for a new Performing Arts Center is going to be a little dust, a lot of change, and even a few inconveniences. Please, bear with us as we work through the "under construction" phase with an estimated completion date of the start of the 2023-24 school year.
- Student and Staff Parking: All staff and students must park together in the parking lot alongside 112th St. The section nearest the tennis courts is reserved for staff parking. The section nearest the stadium is reserved for student parking. Students and staff must drive all the way around the school to access the new student/staff parking lot. Please, do not cut through the drop-off and pick-up zone to park.
- AM student drop-off and PM student pick-up and zones. Please, do not park in the drop-off and pick-up zones between 7:30am and 3pm. The drop-off and pick-up zones will be the same for 2022-23 as they were for the end of 2021-22.
- Main Entrance: The former main entrance to the building is no longer accessible. The new main entrance is on the south end of the main building near the student pick-up and drop-off zone.
- Handicapped Parking has been relocated to the stalls in the drop-off zone nearest the new main entrance.
- Bicycle Parking has been relocated to the 1400 building (outside the band classroom).
- Pedestrians in the drop-off and pick-up zone should use the pedestrian walkway along the fence line.
- As with all construction projects, almost everything is subject to change. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
