Weekly update for the Chorus at Austin Middle School
Fall Concert Edition
Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a relaxing and rejuvenating fall break, because now it is time to really hit the ground running!!!
IT'S CONCERT WEEK!! Please be sure to see the details below concerning rehearsal on Wednesday, and the concert on Thursday. 7th & 8th grade students are performing, and 6th grade students are required to attend in order to complete their performance evaluation assignment. This will be a relatively short concert as each group will perform two songs and then one song combined. The concert should over by 7:30pm.
Also in this edition, see updates for spirit wear order, the Yankee Candle Fundraiser, conference week, and our next Chick-Fil-A spirit night!
Wishing everyone a great week! See you on Thursday night!

DHC Updates:
Please sign up for the DHC Remind Texts. Text the code @amsdhc to 81010.
Your $30 registration fee is due now. It can be paid by cash, check, or on RevTrak - select Honor Chorus fees when checking out. All of this fee is passed along to GMEA. If you'd like to make a donation to help offset the cost of transportation for this event, you can send with the $30, or separate. Thank you!
During rehearsal this week you will receive your login information for PerfectMyMusic so that you can rehearse at home. Remember, you MUST log 8 hours of rehearsal time in order to participate in DHC. (This is a GMEA rule, not mine, but a good one!) The better prepared you are, the more you will get out of the honor chorus experience. Rehearsals are not mandatory, but you are responsible for learning the music and providing documentation of all rehearsal time. Rehearsal logs will be distributed at this week's rehearsal, as well as permission slips and information about the event.

When not at school, I spend time with my husband Mike, and my two children, Daniel (a junior), and Molly (8th grade). I'm originally from Orlando, Florida and I spend several weeks a year visiting with family, visiting the theme parks, and going to the beach. I also spend my spare time reading, and spending time with my friends and family.
