Welcome Back

New Hope Academy 20-21 School Year

Principal Address

It was a strange experience not seeing our students and not being able to celebrate the end of the 19-20 school year. I was delighted that we were allowed to safely host the Spring 2020 graduation ceremony last May. With the challenges that face us over the next few months, I want you to know that both my staff and I will do everything we can to provide a safe and encouraging environment at New Hope Academy. We are fortunate to live in a district and community that supports education. This is evident by the newly constructed building that will house New Hope Academy. Our new facility could not have come at a better time. This new facility has enough space for our students and staff to spread out and practice social distancing when we are working. I am very excited to show off our new space and will be announcing an open house hopefully in the near future. Below is just an overview of first day information. I look forward to working with you and your family.

First Day of School

New Hope Academy’s first day of school will be Wednesday, August 19th. Session A will start promptly at 8:00 am and Session B will begin at 12:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30 am, and all students will need to be here on time.

New Hope Academy will be following all of the LCISD reopening guidelines (https://www.lcisd.net/apps/pages/reopeningguidelines). If you have any specific concerns or questions, please contact the front office.

Student Parking is located in front of the building and on the South side of the building. All students driving will need to purchase a $10 parking pass. Please make sure and bring your driver’s license and proof of insurance. Parking is first come first serve. Overflow parking is located on the backside of the building next to the tennis courts.

If you have any questions regarding bus transportation, please call New Hope Academy at 806-863-7109, and we can assist with any questions or concerns.

Student Dress Code

Students will not be allowed to bring any bags into New Hope Academy. Although NHA does not have a specified dress code, please dress appropriately for the learning environment.

Face masks will be required upon entering the building. Once properly socially distanced from each other, students will be allowed to remove their face coverings. Please make sure face masks are school appropriate.

School Supplies

New Hope students only need to bring their own personal headphones or earbuds. All other school supplies are provided by the school district.

Online Verification

If you have not already completed the online verification, please do so. If you need any assistance with completing the online verification, please call 806-863-7109.

National School Lunch Program

Each year you must re-apply for The National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Please take the time today to apply online. This program has more benefits than just providing nutritious, low-cost or free meals to students. Qualifying students are eligible for financial assistance for SAT fees and college application fee waivers.

The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritious, low-cost or free meals to students in Texas public schools. If you believe your child may qualify for free or reduced price school meals, please complete a school meal application to determine eligibility. You can apply online at: https://www.mealappnow.com/manlcp/splash.php

Virtual Learners

New Hope Academy students are expected to work on Edgenuity for 4 hours per day. Failure to work for the minimum of four (4) hours will result in removal from the program. Student progress will be monitored daily. It is vitally important that your student actively engages in their academics and creates a schedule at home to be intentional with their studies. Students wanting to get ahead are welcome to work additional hours. Staff will be available from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. to answer emails and assist in any questions that you have related to your course work. Each student has been assigned one teacher to email with questions regarding course work. If you are currently enrolled in English, you will need to follow the specific rules for Google Classroom and email Mrs. Hyatt, lhyatt@lcisd.net with any questions.

Per district policy, all final exams will be completed in person on campus. We will arrange a time to allow your student to take these exams with minimum contact.
