Fairfield Elementary
Summer Time
The 2018-2019 school year was a great one! Fairfield is a wonderful school not only because we have fabulous teachers and students, but also because of the love and support our families provide to the school. My assistant principal, Mrs. Morrissey, and I want to thank each and every one of you for that support.
Mrs. Morrissey and I are both busy cleaning out our offices and preparing for a smooth transition for the next administrative team. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Mrs. Morrissey on her retirement. For 44 years Mrs. Morrissey has dedicated her life to the education of children. Fairfield is thankful that we were able to work with Mrs. Morrissey and wish her the best of luck as she begins her new adventures in retirement.
I would also like to again thank everyone for the great nine (9) years I have had at Fairfield. My Fairfield Family is near and dear to my heart and will be greatly missed. I have always had the philosophy that change is good and I am excited about the opportunity to serve the Creeds Elementary families.
On behalf of Mrs. Morrissey and myself, we wish you the best of luck in your future and we know that “once a falcon, always a falcon,” so we hope to hear great things about our Fairfield Family in the future.
Sincerely,
Mr. Knapp
Summer meals available to all children at designated Virginia Beach schools
Free breakfast and lunch meals will be available to all children ages 18 years and younger at designated Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) sites this summer. This Summer Food Service Program, which is administered by the Virginia Department of Education and federally funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), offers meals to children who might otherwise go hungry during the summer months when school is not in session.
Children do not have to be enrolled in summer school or in the school division to take part in the program, nor do they or their parents have to complete paperwork or show proof of income or identification. Children only need to show up at an open summer meal site during the designated hours to receive a meal.
The schedule for this year's Summer Food Service Program at VBCPS is as follows, with all sites closed July 4:
