The Goths

Beginnings
An East Germanic Tribe, who originated in Scandinavia. They divided into the Visigoths and Ostrogoths in the 5th and 6th century. The Ostrogoths were subjects of the Huns, while the Visigoths invaded the Romans.
The Visigoths (The West Goths)
The Visigoths were a a vigorous tribe. Their kingdom flourished and were very wealthy. The Franks drove most of them out of France.
The Ostrogoths (The East Goths)
They were the subject of the Huns. They settled in Balkans after the fall of the Huns. In 493, their emperor decided to occupy Italy. They ended with a 20 year war with the Romans.
