September Principal News
September 8, 2020
Hello Heritage Intermediate Families!
I hope you had a great Labor Day and enjoyed time doing whatever makes you and your family happy. I know I was able to spend some time outside cleaning up some gardening that I had been ignoring the last month and just that small task made me feel accomplished this weekend.
I look forward to spending more time with your children and getting to know you throughout the year.
In Partnership,
Jodi Oliver

Nurse Information
Notes From Nurses:
We are so excited to have the students back in the building and are super impressed with their mask wearing. We also encourage practicing good hand hygiene at home regularly. Please note, that if you are calling in an absence for your child who may have Covid like symptoms, or has been in direct contact with someone who is Covid positive and you have been told to stay home, one of the nurses from school will be contacting you for some information. This is to help the St. Charles County Health Department get the information you need from them sooner.
Read here to help you decide if it is appropriate to send your child to school.
Keep reminding kids to wash hands for 30 seconds (sing ABC’s 2x).
Continue with Social Distancing.
Don’t forget to wear your mask.
Continue to send your child with their water bottle.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL:
For students needing any medication at school, example Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Epi Pen, Inhaler, or prescription medication, please contact the school nurse by email or phone as soon as possible to get the appropriate forms and to make an appointment to drop off medication. Parents are not allowed in the school buildings at this time. Medication forms will all need to be complete with physician signature before medication will be accepted. Nurses will be able to receive faxes from physicians for medications, but unable to fax forms for completion. Medication will not be administered without the appropriate completed forms.
Inhalers are encouraged and must have chambers. Nebulizers are strongly discouraged due to the aerosolization.
Flu Shots:
Be on the watch for flu shot clinics from your pediatrician, local businesses and area hospitals.

WSD Mobile App
The Wentzville School District has announced the launch of the WSD App, an all-in-one information source for parents, students, staff and community members. Created by ParentLink, the app was developed specifically to provide direct access to the District’s most sought-after information in the most convenient format – a mobile device. It allows users to view news stories, calendar information, send messages on a tip line, and receive important alerts – all on their smart phone.
The app is free and can be downloaded from the Apple Store or the Google Play store. Simply search for - Wentzville School District. “We know all parties -- students, parents, community, and staff - will find great value in this app,” said ParentLink President John Graff. “We are excited to provide the WSD community with a mobile resource to make collaborating with their local schools an enjoyable and easy part of their busy schedules."
