Week In Review!
ELA: This week we continued to talk about the importance of thinking while we read. We practiced strategies to deepen our comprehension and even learned about how we can use our reading as stems for writing ideas!
Next week: We're digging into character traits!
Writing: We continued to practice forming ideas to write. Writers write about what they know! They make lists and write from those lists! We will begin the first unit of study on Monday!
"'I'm a better writer today than I was yesterday, and I'll be a better writer tomorrow, then I am today!"
S.S. We are working on State Government CLICK HERE FOR OUR S.S. STUDY GUIDE!
Math: We're continuing to work on Place Value concepts. Rounding and comparing numbers, adding / subtracting large numbers (into the 10 thousands) with regrouping/ungrouping and new "groups".
Spelling: Next week we will begin our word sorting routines. Please look at your child's sort and help him/her study the patterns (not memorize their words) each week!
Your children took a pre-test earlier in the month that helped us determine which sort pattern they should start with and we'll be getting into that next week!
