We Are Hawks!
Week of November 2nd
Irons Family,
We made it to November! Please do not let your guard down with COVID. Irons has done a great job with all of the COVID mitigation strategies, but we still rely on students, staff, and parents to keep everyone healthy and safe. What we have learned through the process is that wearing masks will prevent the need to quarantine. Please remind your child to properly wear a mask at all times, wash hands often, use the hand sanitizer stations throughout the building and classrooms, and maintain social distancing in the hallways. Hallways have become the area of most concern. We are reminding more and more students to mask up, not hug, high five, and play around with other students while in the hall. Please discuss with your child the need to properly wear a mask at all times and to not touch others while in the hall. We have just about depleted our supply of masks we provide to students who forget one. Please provide your child with a mask daily. With everyone maintaining proper COVID precautions, we will continue to return to a more typical school environment. I encourage everyone to look at the CISD COVID-19 Dashboard for updated information on current cases at Irons, CISD, and Montgomery County.
Parents, I encourage you to send your child to school daily, I know we have the option to work from home, but this should only be used if your child has symptoms of COVID, you cannot answer no to the check-in questions, or your child has some other form of illness. We should not use the ability to work remotely for vacation, a test, or I just do not want to attend school today. Attending school daily is one of the most significant factors for success.
- Irons Picture day is Wednesday, November 11th, during all History classes. You can find all the information below.
- Progress reports for this three week period will be available in parent access this week.
- Tuesday, November 3rd, Election Day, is a student holiday. No zoom or canvas assignments will be due.
- Thanksgiving break November 23-27.
Thank you to everyone who turned out to the Irons Jr. High Crust Pizza Spirit Night. I enjoyed talking with parents and students who stopped by. I know that we are all not ready to run out to packed restaurants, so we will continue to find locations that offer drive-through and to go ordering for future spirit nights.
Have a safe Halloween.

School Cash
We are so excited to start the new school year! We have missed being able to engage in person with our students and watch them as learning takes root.
As you know we have made several modifications to how we operate in order mitigate the risk of COVID-19. I want to assure you that the health and safety of your family and our staff is our highest priority.
Please Pay School Fees Online
As part of those modifications, we are asking you to use our online payment system to purchase school items when you can. Cash can play a significant role in virus transmission, and we are working toward following the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations to use contactless payments to mitigate virus spread.
Paying Online is Fast and Easy
Paying school fees online is fast and easy and can be done from any computer or smartphone. Getting setup up is three simple steps:
