Weekly News From The Hill

January 19th, 2018

From The Principal's Desk

I hope that your year is off to a great start. It certainly is a welcoming feeling to know that I was missed during the time I spent with family during the passing of my mother. I would like to thank the JHES staff for their support and continued hard work during the time that I was away. I am so proud to work along side such a phenomenal staff!

As you're aware, we already kicked off our Kindness Matters Campaign at the start of the year. Next Friday, January 26th marks the mid-point of the school year. As we approach this time, it's a great opportunity to refresh, renew, and continue our focus on creating a positive environment for our students, staff, and community. Although our intentional focus on kindness will come to an end, we will continue to promote an environment of compassion, unity, and respect. We look forward to extending our kindness chain for the remainder of the school year and spreading kindness around the school and community.

On Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018, all community members are invited to join Howard County Public School System Superintendent Michael J. Martirano for a Town Hall meeting at Oakland Mills High School at 7:00pm. Dr. Martirano will answer questions from the Howard County community on any topics pertaining to public education and the Howard County Public School System. Registration is not required. Please join us for this special event!
