FFA: Parliamentary Competition
By: Lance Smith
The freshmen in FFA participated in a contest called Parliamentary in Middleton, Idaho. There were seven freshmen that competed: Hannah Field, Heidi Pearson, Laura Gasper, Christian Sharek, D-O Draper, Lance Smith, and Adam Hogaboam. The contest was March 15th. The team has been working hard on the contest; we have been memorizing and going over the motions we have to do. The team was aiming for first, but since this is the first year we competed in Parliamentary, we were fine with the place we got. We all had our own parts we had to memorize. Hannah is the President, Heidi is the Vice President, Laura is the Sentinel, Christian is the Reporter, Lance is the Treasurer, D-O is the Secretary, and Adam is the Advisor.
We didn’t do badly at the contest but we didn’t get first. There are a few things we need to work on, but we were happy with how we did. The team was very nervous when we got there, but we did our best and we got it done. There were only three teams that showed up and we got third, but Mr. Shoen was happy with how we did.
