WATERFORD WEEKLY
November 11, 2016
WATERFORD MISSION
At Waterford Elementary we believe in all students and staff learning and growing together; where innovation, diversity, and relationships are valued.
WATERFORD VISION
Choose Your Attitude, Make Their Day, Be Present, Play
Choose Your Attitude
Every day I am amazed by the way our staff members pitch in and help in times of need even when it may impact their prep time. Everyday it seems like I am tapping someone on the shoulder to help cover a class, a recess, etc. If I send an e-mail requesting help, I usually have responses within 15 - 20 minutes from staff members who are willing to help out. Thanks to all of you who put yourself second, at times, to help others in times of need.
Make Their Day
2 staff members made Jama's day when they stepped up and covered her recess duties so she could go home and take care of a sick child.
"Thank you, thank you, Lynne and Teresa for taking my recess duties today while I am home with Levi! I really appreciate it!"
Be Present
A great example this week of being present was the hour and 15 minute meeting that was held by the IDEA room and Oaklawn staff. Each member of the team truly cares about the students in the room. The brainstorming, listening, tears shed, and genuine caring of each person in the room was very evident. It is these types of meetings that are going to help make a difference in the lives of the IDEA room students.
Play
For play this week, I am anticipating the play that will be taking place during the Sound of Music sing along that will be taking place on Friday after school. I am sure there will be plenty of fun and laughter throughout!
