An initiative of the ACTS Group

Welcome to Every School Partnership!

If you are reading this newsletter, it means that you are a leader of a church who has committed to serve a local school through the Every School Partnership. This newsletter will go out each month and is designed to be a resource to keep you up to date with the initiative. Each month we will share new resources available to you as well as share what other churches are doing to serve local schools. If there is another point person from your church who would like to receive these monthly emails, please reply to this newsletter with his or her contact information. We are full of joy that your church has decided to partner with us in this effort to serve schools, students and their families across the Greater Sacramento region!

UNDIVIDED The Movie - Coming January 29 - Official Trailer

Resource: BeUndivided Documentary

With the launch of Every School Partnership in the Sacramento region, Serve United/The ACTS Group is honored to learn from the work of BeUndivided, an organization that inspires and equips churches to begin and sustain school partnerships based on the experience of Southlake Church's partnership with Portland's Roosevent High School. Through a generous grant from the Expectations Project, BeUndivided is taking their vision and resources on the road to three new cities this Fall and Winter. Sacramento was honored to be picked as one of those cities!

Above is a trailer for the documentary UnDivided, which tells the story of Southlake Church's partnership with Roosevelt High School. Undivided can be found on Netflix, iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, VUDU, XBOX and Playstation. Just search "UnDivided" and enjoy! If you would like to receive a copy of the DVD, contact us at megan@actsonline.net and we would be happy to gift one to you. This documentary is a great tool for churches to get congregants inspired and informed about the vision of church school partnerships. Consider hosting a screening of the documentary for your congregation or several congregations together in your community.

Volunteer Resource Management Software

BeUndivided is also offering an incredible resource for churches called Volunteer Resource Management Software (VRM). VRM exists to help you get the word out about needs in your local school and easily manage and organize volunteers. This tool was developed by Meet the Need, an organization that came alongside BeUnidivided's vision to ease the work of mobilizing volunteers into local schools by creating software specifically for church school partnerships. VRM Software is available to you for free along with technical support from our friends at BeUndivided. Training opportunities will be available for you in the upcoming months, but if you are interested in getting started right away, please email me at megan@actsline.net and let me know your interest and I can get you signed up to receive your software as well as training modules which you can access here.

Stories of Service: Pacific Elementary School's Harvest Festival

More than 2,000 people came out strong at Pacific Elementary School’s Harvest Festival. Sponsored by BOSS (Bayside Church of South Sacramento), the students and their families engaged in 17 carnival game booths, a fun photo booth, balloon artist and face painting. BOSS also served up hotdogs, chips and popcorn while a DJ encouraged some great dance moves on the blacktop! The two-hour event, fully underwritten and served with the help of 127 BOSS volunteers, was used as a fundraiser for the school’s educational field trips. BOSS Church officially partnered with Pacific Elementary School in 2014 in support of the Every School Partnership initiative. THANK YOU Bayside of South Sacramento for partnering and supporting the efforts of Pacific Elementary School to raise up our next generation leaders!
