Ninja Middle School News
October 3, 2022
From the desks of Mrs. Senior. and Mrs. Mitchell.
Hello Middle School Ninja Families,
We hope everyone is doing well after our unexpected time off for Hurricane Ian. While our community was spared from storm devastation, our neighbors in southern counties will be feeling the effects well into the future. The Pasco County School District will be organizing relief efforts to assist those in need. We will share opportunities for students and families to get involved when we have more information.
We would like for all of our families to be a part of our communication group in order to keep everyone informed on what is happening around our virtual campus and beyond. The directions for opting-in for communications can be found below.

Updated Pacing Chart
If your child took a break from school this last week, we are attaching an updated pacing chart. To get back on pace due to last week (9/26-9/30), please have your child submit at least 1 additional assignment per class for the next three weeks. This should equal 8% progress per week and will help your child get caught up in three weeks.
Student Gallup Poll
This year, Pasco County Schools will participate in the Gallup Student Poll. The Poll gives students a voice in building great schools, and the results provide schools with important, actionable information beyond standard measures, such as grades and test scores, to help schools make kids ready for the future.
Students in grades 5 through 12 will be invited to participate in the Gallup Student Poll during the survey window of September 26 through October 21. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes for your student to complete. It is available in both English and Spanish.
This survey is anonymous and voluntary. That means that Gallup cannot identify your student, and your student's individual responses will not be shared with anyone. Students do not have to participate if they do not want to, and they may skip any item they do not wish to answer. There are no consequences or penalties if your student does not participate.
The Gallup Student Poll covers the following themes:
• Engagement: Students' involvement and enthusiasm for school.
• Hope: The ideas and energy students have for the future.
• Belonging: reeling accepted and included as part of the school.
• Social and emotional learning: How people learn to understand and manage emotions and establish positive relationships with others.
We hope that students will use this opportunity to help us build the very best school for our students.
To Complete the Survey:
- Please have your child log into their MyPasco Connect
- Select the Gallup icon (See image above)
- Select Pasco eSchool as their school

In Pasco eSchool's secondary program attendance in class is demonstrated by submitting work within a 7-day period. Attendance is entered into our student tracking system, myStudent, every Thursday and parents will receive an automated call if a student has not completed at least one assignment in each class.
The goal of these calls is to share this information with parents so they can help students get back on track.
For students who have longer periods of time without work submissions, parents can expect our team to reach out through phone calls and emails, schedule parent conferences, require students to attend virtual extended school day, require students to work on our school's campus, and other attendance interventions.
Our goal is to work with families to ensure that all students are successful learners.
