From the Desk of Principal Fears
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Every May, we recognize the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Together, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.
PA state testing continues this week with the Math exam for students in grades 6 through 8 and the Science exam for 8th graders. Please be sure to pay attention to the important details about PSSAs and Keystones below.

6th Grade PSSA Information
Attention 6th Grade Families
It's time to start preparing for the PSSAs! Testing will take place April 25-27 (ELA) and May 2-3 (Math). In 6th grade, we ask that students keep their PSSA "luggage" in their homeroom, so that they are prepared for testing each day. Please use the link below to see what to pack in the luggage, which is due April 20. The linked document also includes general reminders for the test that you may want to review with your student at home!

Please be aware that there is a shortage of referees and umpires that will likely impact sports at some point this Spring- both home and away. PIAA is allowing for “scrimmages” between teams if no official is available. When this happens please be patient and understanding if a fill-in referee or umpire (teacher or other adult) is helping out. We all would prefer a “scrimmage” over a cancelation.
Hello from the Fugett PTO!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK DONATIONS
CALL FOR FRIGHT NIGHT VOLUNTEERS
Our favorite time of year at Fugett is fall because of our biggest PTO event - Fright Night! We would like to start preparing for this spooktacular October night early, and we are seeking a few volunteers specifically for the Haunted House committee. If you like Halloween decorating, then we need your creativity to enhance this experience for our kids. Please contact the PTO (fugettpto@gmail.com) if interested.
DINING NIGHT OUT
Our last dining night out for the year is next week! On Tuesday, May 9th from 5-7:00 pm both Giorgio's Pizza & Sub, and Marble Slab Creamery (formally Maggie Moo's) of Exton will be donating proceeds of sales to our Fugett PTO. These restaurants are conveniently located right next to each other, so we hope you can support the PTO by dining out!

SPRING POP-UP SHOP
Join us for a Spring School Store Pop-Up shop this Wednesday, May 3, starting at 5pm. We will be set up on the ramp outside of the auditorium (in the case of inclement weather, we’ll be inside the auditorium lobby).
We’re excited to offer a mix of old and new spirit wear items, including t-shirts, gym shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles, car magnets and more.
It’s a great chance to stock up on all your Fugett gear for next year, or just to treat your Fugett Cougar with an end-of-school year gift!
Items will be first come, first serve - and payment will be cash only.
Donations for West Chester Food Cupboard
The PTO is collecting donations to support the WC Food Cupboard. Please consider purchasing items in need and having your student place the donation in the blue bin marked "Food Cupboard", located at the cafeteria entrance. items most needed are: diapers, feminine products, cereal, toothpaste, deodorant, canned meat and fish, and canned fruit. Any items that you can spare are always gratefully accepted. We will continue this much needed service throughout the year. Thank you for your generosity and support!
