Robert Millikan

Robert won many awards, some of them being the Nobel Prize in Physics, IEEE Edison Medal, Franklin Medal, Hughes Medal, ASME Medal, and the Comstock Prize in Physics. He also founded an organization, the California Institute of Technology.

Millikan's Oil Drop Experiment

The oil drop experiment determined the size of the charge of an electron. He passed a fine mist of oil through a plate that put electrons on the oil and then using math, he calculated the mass of a single electron.
