Congratulations, Artists!
Congratulations to 3rd grader, Lisa A. and 5th grader, Anita P. for having their work selected to represent Bethany in the district Summer Exhibit at Plano ISD’s Sockwell Center.
Lisa’s work (above) titled, “Tennis at Sunset” is tempera and sharpie.
Anita’s work (below) is a collograph print titled “Spring Stack”.
Student art works from the West and Central clusters are hung in the lobby and will be viewed by PISD staff and the visitors for the entire Summer! Thanks, girls, for sharing your awesome creations!

Take a look at Texas Library Association’s recommended reading lists for the 2017-2018 school year, including the 2X2’s for younger readers and the Bluebonnet nominees for next year's 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders:
http://www.txla.org/reading-lists
At the beginning of the school year, I’ll send home a blue reading log for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to keep track of the Bluebonnets they read. Students who read ten or more of the titles by Spring Break, 2018, will be invited to my Bluebonnet Breakfast in April.
PLEASE NOTE: The Bluebonnet list is recommended for 3rd-6th grade students. Some books may not be ideal for all students, so you may wish to access reviews of the books via Amazon before reading.
Have a great summer! Happy reading!
Kim Murff, Bethany Librarian
