Definition:
A simile is a phrase comparing two things using like or as
Example:
John runs as fast as lighting
Idioms
Definition:
An idiom is a way of saying something on a different way, but you cannot change an idiom.
Example:
Actions speak louder than words, that means that What you do is more powerful than speaking
Alliterations
Definition:
A phrase that has the same letter for all the words of the phrase, but you can use connecting words like are, on, the etc.
Example: My mum makes me mash my mini MNMs on a Monday morning
Metaphor
Definitions:
A phrase that uses are, was, is and were.
Example:
She is a walking dictionary
Onomatopoeia
Definition:
An Onomatopoeia is is any sound you can make.
Examples:
moo, ding, crunch etc.
Personification
Definition:
Giving object human characteristics
Example:
The ice-cream was slowly dying
