Holiday Season
This time of year gives us an opportunity to reflect on how we got to the place we are, sometimes taking a broken road to get there. Growing up in Houston I had never been to Oklahoma, nor even heard of the big cities of Bartlesville and Dewey, but I've now spent 1/3 of my life in this area. It's an awesome community that I'm proud to call myself a part of.
Every year, our students and staff give generously to a number of organizations that benefit those who have needs at the holidays. Angel Tree, The Salvation Army, and United Way all receive items and donations from our school community, and it makes my heart happy to see out kids so excited about serving those who need it.
"Paying it forward" is an important lesson for students to learn, even though it's not measured on the state test.
Happy Holidays everyone!
