Hermann Elementary Bearcat Bulletin
Learn. Lead. Grow. Succeed. Together!
April 6, 2018
April always seems to pass quickly because it's busy! Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps, reminds us, "it's not about how you start, but how you finish." This is a valuable habit to reinforce this time of year at school and at home. We have five full weeks of learning left to do. The staff at HES would appreciate your support as we work to finish strong! Regular attendance, arriving at school on time, and balancing extra activities with school work are ways to help your child finish this school year strong!
Grade Level Assessments
It is extremely important for your child to attend school during these assessments. Testing begins at 8:30 so arriving at school on time is also vital to your child's success. A good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast will also set your child up for a successful testing experience! While these tests are extremely important, we want our students to know that each day at Hermann Elementary is important. A positive work ethic is important each day at school, especially during assessment week. We believe that these assessments are a great time to showcase all we know!
NWEA assessments will begin for all students the week of April 23! Again, we are excited to see the growth of each and every student here at Hermann Elementary!
Our whole school will gear up for these assessments with a Spirit Week planned by our Spirit Leaders. Please participate in as many days as you can!
- Monday, April 9 Cap/Hat Day: Put on your thinking CAP!
- Tuesday, April 10 Superhero Day: Do SUPER on your test!
- Wednesday, April 11 Neon Day: HIGHLIGHT the clues!
- Thursday, April 12: Comfy Day: Get plenty of REST before the test!
- Friday, April 13: Camo Day: HUNT for the right answers!
