Project 1: Minecraft in Education
Driving Question
How can we, as Minecraft enthusiasts use Minecraft to support innovative learning experiences in classrooms at Austin Elementary?
Project Brief
Identify ways to use Minecraft in the classroom as a tool for innovative teaching and learning.
Learning Outcomes:
- identify the connection between what we are learning in the classroom and the real world
- develop persuasive writing and presentation skills
- develop collaborative skills / mindset
- develop grit and perseverance in the face of challenges
PLEASE NOTE: My hope is that we will have the opportunity to actually use the game of Minecraft during this project. However, please understand that this project is about more than just playing Minecraft. While that will hopefully be a part of the experience, that will not be the only thing we do.

Project 2: Share Your Passion!
Driving Question
Project Brief
Create TedED Club and share our passions at a learner designed TedED Conference at Austin Elementary.
Learning Outcomes:
- identify a cause you are passionate about (i.e. Respect for Women; Shelter Animals)
- develop research and presentation skills
- discuss and celebrate creative ideas
- collaborate with other learners around the world who share our interests
Format:
- individuals/team
- open to 3rd and 4th grade learners
Project 3: Kids Making a Difference
Driving Question
Project Brief
Identify a cause that we care deeply about and find a way to make a difference.
Answer the questions:
- What breaks my heart?
- What am I going to do about it?
Learning Outcomes:
- identify a cause you are passionate about
- develop research skills
- learn to identify and analyze real world problems
- develop creative problem solving skills
