CES HAPPENINGS
Happy Spring! It is in the air!
We have one more week until we have Spring Break! Our kids are enjoying playing outside in this beautiful weather.
Our classes are also getting back in the swing of things with field trips and many classes have had unique on site field trips with bugs on our campus, kangaroos, and boa constrictors! In the coming weeks, we will have fish growing in classrooms and birds visiting!
Our calendar for the 2022/2023 school year has been approved. Please check it out here.
Also if you know of any students that will be in kindergarten in the fall, send them our way on April 25th at 9 AM for Kindergarten Round Up. During Kindergarten Round Up, we offer free health exams and help you complete the required paperwork to sign up your child. Please remember that our school is under construction so parking is limited. Cross Street is the best option for parking and please make sure to enter through the Kindergarten Gate on the side of the building.
We also look forward to Thriving Thursday next week, on April 14th! Our sixth graders are working to develop and design the activities for our entire student body. Great job sixth graders!
Gratefully,
Mrs. Fischer and Ms. Crowther

Staff Spotlight: Brian Phelps
Brian loves the Chester Kids! He attended school with many of our current students grandparents and feels invested in their life. He enjoys their energy, excitement, and the opportunity to offer advice that might impact their decision making when they are presented with tough choices.
In his free time, Brian loves riding bikes and spending time at Lake Almanor. He loves spending time with his daughter and dreams of taking her globe trotting around the world to allow her to have the experiences that he may have missed out on. Brian loves Shel Silverstein poems and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. He loves the color blue and dogs. Woof woof!

Masking Updates
The chart below will be located on each entrance of all sites to assist our stakeholders understanding of the current guidance.
Our schools continue to take collective actions, including maximizing ventilation, providing access to personal protective equipment as well as testing and vaccination opportunities. We will continue to work closely with our partners at Public Health and to provide our school leaders access to the most current guidance and information to guide decision-making. Additional information on State guidance can be found here.
As we move toward the end of another challenging school year we appreciate everyone’s patience and resilience.
Volunteers on Campus
Volunteers on campus
CES values our volunteers who help us so much. This year, in addition to the paperwork that volunteers complete we will be requiring
proof of vaccination
Or a weekly Covid test
and be fingerprinted (this can be done at the District Office in Quincy)
You are considered a volunteer if you come in consistently to assist at school in your child’s class. Field Trip drivers or parents that help for one event are not considered volunteers in this circumstance.
Testing will occur on campus once a week starting in early October but one can get a test result from anywhere convenient. The “quick test” AKA antigen will be the test provided at the school. At this time, over the counter tests will not be accepted.
