The Happenings of Room 11

Notes from Mrs. H.

1. As the temperatures are plummeting closer to freezing please remember to send your child with a coat, gloves, hat, and scarf. It gets very cold out at recess and I want to make sure everyone can keep warm.

2.. Please make sure that you are packing a quick and healthy snack for your child.

This Week's Learning

Math: This week we will be continuing our measurement unit. Students will be asked to measure lengths using different sized units, develop accurate measurement techniques and understand that measurements should remain the same each time they are measured.

Reading: Our reading focus will be making text to text connections. We will be comparing stories and making connections about the characters, settings, conflicts and solutions.

Content: In content we will be exploring matter. I am so excited for this unit! Students will be participating in several experiments to prove the three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas). At the end of the week we will start out Famous Americans unit.
