Staff Weekly Update
Updates for the Week of 4/13-4/17
Principal Update to Families:
As noted last week, it seems that my weekly Principal Update goes directly into your spam folders unless you tell it not to; I sent mine today around 4:30pm, so please check to make sure you received it! If you did not, it is available here. Thanks!
Building/Facilities:
We've had success with lights and power this week in the building consistently - woo hoo! Please feel free to continue accessing the building as-needed, so long as you do so on your own and practice social distancing.
Monday's Planning Day:
- Zooapalooza structure will be shared with parents on Sunday; I will share this with you, as well, so that you can post it for easy access.
- Enrichment Meeting at 1pm
- Intervention Meeting at 1:30pm
Sharing Student Task Boards:
The question arose today about when to share student task boards moving forwards; there is no expectation that you share the plans for NEXT WEEK until the end of the day on Monday, as Monday is designed to be a day for you to plan and work ahead. Moving forward, the Administrative Team asks that you plan to share plans for the upcoming week by the end of the day on the Friday before to facilitate parent familiarity with concepts, lessons, expectations, etc. If that is not possible, communicate with your students/families so they know when to expect the plans. If that does not seem feasible to you on the whole, reach out!
Specials Activities Link
If you have not yet seen, our great Specials teachers put their lessons, resources, and challenges all together in a one-stop-shop (D101 Specials Activities) that they will update weekly for our students. Please link this into your plans for next week with the advice that parents/kids bookmark this one!
E-Learning Planning Docs
For ease of access, here are the e-learning planning docs:
Shout Outs!!!!
-
Tara (and her girls) for making the phenomenal signs of love for our Field Park windows!
Scott, Sydney, Vickie, Kerry, and Katie for their time and energy as a part of our interview team this week!
ALL who tried out Google Meet this week and learned its nuances... and rolled with it, even if they'd prefer Zoom! (PS - we're working on it!)
Vickie for the creation and spreading of great tech resources to help us navigate this strange landscape.
Teams who met this week, long before the Monday planning day, to figure out the game plan for e-learning moving forward -- you rocked this thing!
Kerry, Lisa B., Sean, Christine, Jill, Laurie O., and Terri C. staff for figuring out Temporary Learning Plans on the fly and at the ready, at - of course! - the highest standard. We see you!
Shannon, Laura, and Emily for their impressive behind-the-scenes support and in-front-of-the-scenes webdesign and curation on our D101 E-Learning website; DANG.
Kristin for keeping the social vibe goin' with the Hillgrove and Kenny's "at home" fiestas these past weeks; I know that I was bummed to miss it today with my interminable principal's meeting. Never has it been more important to "see" one another - thank you to Kristin for organizing, and to all who showed up to hang with the Field Park Family!
Have a shout out YOU would like me to share? Email it to me anytime!
