Rock Hill Review
May 10, 2020
Opening Up
This week was definitely a busy one on "The Hill" to say the least! Even though we are not physically on a campus, our students and teachers have been hard at work "building the hill" virtually. Last Friday, we had our first ever RHHS staff meeting via Zoom! We were blessed to have over 160 staff members who were able to join us for this event. It was awesome to see the excitement and connections already forming among our staff. I cannot wait until our parents and students have the opportunity to meet all of the amazing individuals we have coming to Rock Hill. Obviously there are several wonderful staff members who are transferring from within the District, but we have added some amazing staff members from outside PISD to join them.
On Tuesday the members of our Administrative Team had a site visit and all I can say is "wow!" I posted a video below of a few pictures we took but those photos certainly do not serve our campus justice. It's absolutely amazing that our District has provided this state of the art facility to our kids and staff. It is a true testament to the investment PISD continues to make in ensuring our community has the best of the best resources in which to educate our kids...simply incredible!!!
I was also fortunate enough to be invited to our Cross Country Parent/Student Meeting, Girls Soccer AND RHHS Volleyball Meet and Greet! I am always impressed each time I am involved in one of these meetings by the level of preparation our Coaches represent and the enthusiasm they demonstrate for each of their programs. We have definitely assembled an ELITE staff, as Coach Humble would say!
Lastly, we tasked our kids this week with selecting the weekly spirit themes for our fall sports next year. Having pride and school spirit is going to be a vital component to everything we do at Rock Hill. Just as we have done with everything else on "The Hill," we value our students input in this process and there is no doubt they are ten times more creative in this than we could ever be. We will be announcing these soon and hopefully let everyone get a head start on securing all those items our kids will envision for their dress up days during the year :)
It's always a GREAT DAY TO BE A BLUE HAWK and we are 97 days and counting until our grand opening on August 12, 2020!!!
Thank you for all your support along the way and as always, if you need anything please do not hesitate to reach out. Have a great week and stay well!
