5 Year Anniversary

This month we celebrate the 5 year anniversary of Zemaitis Health and Wellness! Many of our patients followed us from Interchange Medical Wellness and so many more have joined us since. We know that there are many choices for you and your family's healthcare needs and we are so happy that you have placed your faith in us. So we want to THANK YOU for your continued support and patronage!

We are always thankful for new patients that our current patients refer in. We are asking that during this anniversary month our current patients write reviews on Facebook, Google and Yelp. More reviews mean more new patients will find us online.

We will be randomly giving small gifts out to patients, so make sure to make your appointments!

Healthcare Awareness: National Endometriosis Awareness Month

This month we bring awareness to Endometriosis.

According to Endometriosis.org, 176 million women are effected by endometriosis and many more have not been correctly diagnosed. Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found elsewhere in the body. Effected woman may have pelvic pain that can severely impact the quality of life due to severe pain, infertility, abdominal pain, and more. Early diagnosis can help prevent years of diagnosed pain.

Conventional treatments range from hormonal treatments such as birth control pills to surgery to remove the endometrial tissue. Holistic medicine travels a different route. We will take a look at your blood work and nutritional habits to come up with a supplement routine that can help. Acupuncture can be useful in controlling pain along with menstrual related issues. Mercier Therapy can be helpful in those women with both severe abdominal pain as well as those who are trying to conceive.

If you have questions or concerns on anything about endometriosis, please reach out!

March Recipe: Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls

This month's recipe is one of Dr. Patty's favorites! Think buffalo wings wrapped up and each to eat. As always, this is a recipe from Skinnytaste.

2-16 ounces total boneless skinless chicken breasts

2 ounces 1/3 less fat cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup Franks hot sauce, or whatever hot sauce you like

1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese

1/3 cup shredded carrots, chopped

1/3 cup chopped scallions

16 egg roll wrappers

olive oil spray

Blue Cheese Dressing, optional for dipping

For the Chicken:

1.Place chicken in the slow cooker and add enough water or chicken broth to cover. Cook high 4 hours. Remove and shred with two forks, discard the liquid.

2. To make in the Instant Pot, add at least 1 cup broth or water, enough to cover the chicken. Cook on high pressure 15 minutes, natural release. Discard liquid and shred with two forks.

3. Meanwhile, combine the cream cheese and hot sauce together until smooth. Add the chicken, blue cheese, carrots and scallions and mix well, makes 3 cups.

4. One at a time, place egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, points facing top and bottom like a diamond.

5. Spoon 3 tablespoons of the buffalo dip mixture onto the bottom third of the wrapper.

6. Dip your finger in a small bowl of water and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Lift the point nearest you and wrap it around the filling.

7.Fold the left and right corners in toward the center and continue to roll into a tight cylinder.

8. Set aside and repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

9. Spray all sides of the egg rolls with oil using your fingers to evenly coat.

1. Preheat the oven to 400F. Spray a sheet pan with oil.

2. Transfer the egg rolls to the baking sheet and cook until browned and crisp, about 16 to 18 minutes, turning halfway.

3. Serve immediately, with dipping sauce on the side, if desired.

1. In batches, cook 370F for 8 to 9 minutes, turning halfway through until golden brown.

2. Serve immediately, with dipping sauce on the side, if desired.
