Weekly Update

Welcome back! We welcomed our students back with open arms. We certainly missed seeing them. The students got right back into the swing of things. With the new year, some cold weather and snow arrived too. Please remember that we will be going outside for recess if the wind chill is 11 degrees or above. The students that are wearing snow gear, such as hat, gloves, jacket, snowpants and boots are permitted to play in the snow. All other students will be on the blacktop only. We have seen a lot of students with hoodies as jackets. If your child needs a jacket, please reach out the office.

Snow Days

In the event that we have a snow day this year, we will reach out to families in as many ways as possible, including Dojo/Skyward messages, SendIt Communication texts/emails as well as post the information on our website and social media. Please know that snow days WILL NOT be remote learning days. They will be considered a non-attendance/weather day and made up at the end of the school year.
Big picture

On Saturday, we will be sending a practice message through our SendIt Communication system to ensure that it works. This system will be used to communicate any school closures. Please reach out to the office next week if you do not receive a message.

Illinois Rental Payment Program

So many families have experienced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. For those who have fallen behind on rent payments, the Illinois Rental Assistance Program may be able to help keep them in their homes.

The Illinois Rental Payment Program provides financial assistance for rent to income-eligible Illinois renters and their landlords who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Illinois renters may be eligible for up to $25,000 and 18 months of emergency rental payments under the program. This is a grant that does NOT have to be repaid.

COVID 19 Information Updates

Due to the VERY HIGH transmission of Covid cases in our community - in both adults and children, please continue to monitor your child for any Covid related symptoms. If a student has even ONE symptom, they need to stay home and get tested PROMPTLY with a rapid test. Unfortunately we cannot accept any in-home test results. The student needs to be tested within 24 hours if they have siblings who attend the school while waiting for results.

If anyone in the household tests positive for Covid, isolate away from others; and contact the school for quarantine guidelines.

Masks are Required

Please help with COVID protocols and remind your student(s) that masks are required on the school bus, the whole route, as well as during the entire school day.

On Saturday, we will be sending a practice message through our communication system to ensure that it works. This system will be used to communicate any school closures. Please reach out to the office next week if you do not receive a message.
