7th Grade GSS Weekly Update
Week of 4/20-4/24
Classroom Happenings
Budgeting activity:
The students developed a budget this week based on a career and income they chose at the beginning of the unit.
I posted an Example budget that I created with some videos to explain steps or ideas that may be tricky.
The students are challenged to explain a couple of concepts that are not included in the activity. They can ask people at home about it or look it up.
Election:
Next week we'll be learning some concepts about the process of electing a U.S. president.
Weekend Challenge:
On Fridays, I’ll post a fun activity that they can work on at home, similar to the Rube Goldberg soap dispenser from last week. I’m not assigning it as required work, but it may be a fun boredom buster for people at home.
Upcoming Due Dates
Recording History:
The students’5th entry in their journal/blog/vlog/etc. is due at the end of the week on 4/24
They will have another entry due every Thursday during distance learning.
Budgeting Activity
The students had a 3-part budgeting activity this week which is due on 4/23.
During Monday’s Zoom, students are encouraged to bring examples of the fun or creative choices they made in their budgets.
