Office of Residence Life
The Village Final Exam Schedule Must Be Turned In at the link below! Failure to do so will result in a $25 fine!
24 Hour Quiet Hours are now in effect! (05/02-05/12)
- We will document and charge a $25 fine to anyone who is being loud or disruptive, repeat offenders will have additional consequences.
- If you have finished your finals and you are documented for loud noise, you will be asked to leave the halls immediately.
- If you are documented for being loud and have an extension, your extension will be revoked and you will be asked to leave immediately.
Please refrain from playing pool or ping pong in the lounges.
Must leave 24 Hours after last exam! Automatic fine $25/hour that you're late!
Halls Closed: Thursday, May 11th at 2 pm!
$25 per hour FINE if you are late checking out!!!!
Extensions: Last day to request an extension: Monday, May 8, 2017 at 5pm
- You must fill out The Village Final Exam Google Form in order to request an extension!
- Graduating Seniors: Need to be out of the hall by Sunday, May 14th at 12 pm
- If you are planning to attend graduation but you are not a senior you will need to show me your entrance ticket to graduation.
- If you are part of one of the groups helping with graduation and baccalaureate, you will have an extension depending on your role and we will confirm that you are attending once we received a list from your organization.
- If you need an extension because of your flight/bus ticket, you need to submit a copy of your itinerary to Charity Bowen-Miller, cbowen@stmarytx.edu.
- If you are part of McNair or signed up to take a class during May-minimester, you will be granted an extension and instructions will be emailed to you directly with what you are expected to do for Spring closing.
Extensions can be revoked for violating Residence Life and University Polices.
All extensions need to be submitted in writing to your Hall Director.
SP 2017 Check-Out Process
- You must schedule a time to check-out. If you don't sign up for a time by May 4th, you will not be able to request for a walk-through, NO EXCEPTIONS!
- You can sign-up for a walk-through, through The Village Final Exam Google Form or stop by the Hall office door.
- Time requested means you're in you room waiting and all of your belongings are out of your room.
- $25 fine and your walk through will be canceled, IF you are not in your room at the designated time.
- The RA conducting your walk-through will have your RCR and if they notice any damages, you will have to initial under the appropriate column to acknowledge the damage.
Express Check-Out:
- Express Check-Out envelopes are in the hall office.
- When you are ready to check-out, just come by the office, fill out your envelope, and turn in your keys.
- If you're planning to check-out before/after designated office hours, please make arrangements with the RA on Duty after 7 pm or with the Hall Director.
Keys
- You must turn in your keys (room/mail key) to a staff member.
- $50 for lost keys and $25 improper check-out for not turning them in.
- You must turn in your keys yourself, failure to do so will result in a $25 improper check-out.
Damages:
- Whichever way you decided to check-out, you reserve the right to appeal if you are a charge for any damages that are found in your room.
- Community Damages cannot be appeal!
Lock-Outs and Work-Orders
Lock-Outs:
If you were locked out in the Spring 17 and have not paid, please do so by Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
Failure to paid the amount owed will result in a charge to your student account for the total amount plus additional handling fee.
Work-Orders:
- Submit them on-line at Gateway-Campus Life-Live-Residence Life-Related Links- Submit a Work Order
- You will not get charged for the work orders that are considered “normal wear & tear”: such as towel bars loose, shower door off track, sink clogged, door knobs loose, etc.
- Big or severe scratches or serious damage to the vinyl planking, are different!!!!
It’s too late to put in a work order now. You could/should have put in the work order when the scratch happened.
- Your RCR—Room Condition Report—completed in August is used as a standard to assess your room.
If there is anything different, deep scratches on the vinyl, holes in wall, scratches on any doors—you will be charged
If you have any questions, please ask a Village staff member, don't guess!!!
