Husky Happenings
August 20-25
From Mr. Martin
This is our first full week of school. This is the time of year when teachers are establishing expectations. We are building routines and traditions. I want to assure you that good schools are not built on any singular act.
Be sure you support our school and create routines to review your student’s work from school. Simply asking what they learned is a great place to start, but middle school students will almost always require follow up questions. Ex: Show me a google classroom. Share with me a group project that you worked on. What is your favorite subject? Who is your favorite teacher? Who is your best friend? Who do you sit by at lunch?
Parent goal of the above activity. Time on task. There is no replacement for simply spending time talking (engaged) with your child. I promise you that you will not get a ‘do over’ to spend time with your child. Today is the day!
Academic bus starts next week
Do you have questions about academic bus? Ask your student about this. Students are provided ‘limited’ transportation every Tuesday and Wednesday. Students can stay after school until 4 and receive assistance. This is support with any academic needs at TRMS. Take advantage of this opportunity.
Traffic Flow
Follow the link to our arrival and departure procedures on our webpage. Be a good neighbor and do not drop off on Maple Street. We provide an efficient and safe car loop to ensure the safety of our students
MINDSET MOMENT: You can do anything you put your mind to…...make it happen!

From Nurse Rhea
Parents of 7th Grade Students - Please remember to send documentation of your students Tdap immunization to our office. This immunization is mandatory for all 7th grade students to attend school in the state of Kansas.
Remember - if your student will be taking/keeping medications in the health room a NEW physician’s order is required. Last years orders will NOT work. The new order MUST be dated after May 1, 2018 to apply to this school year. This includes diabetic orders, seizure action plans, and asthma/allergy orders. Also, if your student self carries their inhaler or EpiPen, a physician’s order is required granting this permission.
Please feel free to call the office if you have any questions or concerns.
